Today, I thought I would practise a little bravery. Actually, quite a lot. I feel so incredibly self conscious! Anyway, welcome to my first ever video post!
This poem is an ode to the approaching seasonal transition, as Winter takes her rest, and Spring steps in.
For today’s prompt, I invite you to consider a response to this poem from the perspective of Spring, as she readies herself to take Winter’s place.
As always, I’d be delighted to read your pieces, as well as any thoughts on including video in these posts.

Text-only version:
Frost-drawn arms embrace the land and her people, her last grip, faltering now after months of icy licks on bare skin. Winter’s reign, remembered fondly, for fireside feasts and the cocoon of darkness which lifts a little earlier with each morning dew. A new dawn, a bright bloom, Spring hints at her readiness, Winter’s work almost done. Weary now, she steadies her crown, stands tall once more, almost time to whisper away, frosted gown trailing after her.
